    Born in Rome on 29 October 1968, he began his entrepreneurial career in the family business at the age of 21. After 6 years of experience in the construction sector, he joined Cementir in 1995 and has been appointed Group Chairman in 1996. His entrepreneurial vision has led the internationalization of Cementir through targeted and profitable acquisitions and investments, by transforming it from an Italian domestic company to a multinational Group with operations in 18 countries and 5 continents, a diversified business portfolio and a multicultural workforce.

    Group Chief Operating Officer

    Graduated in Electronic Engineering from the II University of Rome, Paolo Zugaro has acquired a deep experience leading international groups and complex organizations. Paolo joined Cementir Group in 1997 as Chief Information Officer and then became Managing Director of Caltanet Spa, an internet company quoted as part of Caltagirone Editore group. In 2005 he took over the position of Chief Information Officer of Cementir Holding.

    In 2008 he became Vice Chairman of Aalborg Portland and in 2010 Chief Executive Officer of Aalborg Portland and Unicon.

    Later he was appointed Vice President of Sinai White Portland Cement in Egypt and in 2016 Chief Executive Officer of Çimentaş, in Türkiye.

    Since 2017 he has held the position of Chief Operating Officer of Cementir Group.

    Group Chief Financial Officer

    Graduated in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Genoa, Roberto started his career in 1997 at IBM as Accounting Manager for Southern Europe, covering roles of increasing responsibility over the years, until he has been appointed CFO in companies in both the Oil sector and in the renewables and electricity production such as TotalERG and Italiana Petroli (API Group).

    In more than twenty years of experience in the energy sector, Roberto has contributed to strategic acquisitions that have led to changes in the core business of the companies he belongs to, he has led operations for the sale of shareholdings, redefining financial structures, setting up multi-year business plans and managing company restructurings.

    Roberto joins the Group in 2023 as Group Chief Financial Officer thanks to his in-depth experience on Finance issues in international and complex environments.

    MBA at the New York University Stern School of Business, class 1996, Finance major. Graduated with honors in Economics and Commerce at LUISS University in Rome in 1988, Chartered Accountant since 1989 and Certified Public Accountant until 2016.

    In 2003 he joined Caltagirone SpA as Finance Director and then moved to Cementir in 2008 as Chief Planning, Budget and Control. Since 2012 he is Head of M&A and IR. Chairman of the BoD of China, Malaysia and the US subsidiaries and member of the BoD of various operating companies.

    Previous work experiences include 8 years at Fidelity Investments UK as Analyst and Portfolio Manager, Merrill Lynch and CSFB in New York. He has served as a non-executive director of ACEA, Banca Antonveneta, Montepaschi Leasing & Factoring, Fabrica Immobiliare SGR.

  • Giacomo Cornetti | Group Chief Information Technology Officer

    Giacomo Cornetti

    Group Chief Information Technology Officer

    Giacomo Cornetti joined Cementir in 2007 and has been holding various positions with growing responsibilities in the IT Department, both in Corporate Headquarter and Regional subsidiaries. He is now serving as Group Chief IT Officer since 2017.

    Giacomo  has completed the transition of Group IT into a Global function, developing a solid and harmonized IT infrastructure and leveraging on the key pillars of change management and digital innovation whilst exploiting the internal IT Business Process competencies to boost business value, in particular during the extensive integration and transformation phases the Group has undergone recently.

    His professional career starts with experiences in logistics and marketing departments in multinational companies in the automotive and energy sector. He then joins a major multinational IT consulting company for 7 years where he managed multiple SAP and Change Management programs for large national and international customers.

  • Claudio Criscuolo | Group General Counsel

    Claudio Criscuolo

    Group General Counsel

    Graduated in Law from the University of Turin and with a master in international law, Claudio Criscuolo is a head of legal, corporate and compliance with an extensive knowledge and understanding of the industrial sector, gained in over 20 years of experience, first in an international law firm, then in Klegal (legal branch of KPMG) and in Fiat Group and finally in Cementir Holding, where he has held the position of Group General Counsel since 2013. 

    Within Fiat Group he held positions of increasing responsibility, for ten years, up to Deputy General Counsel, contributing to the dissolution of the alliance with General Motors, the establishment of a network of industrial partnership agreements at worldwide level and the merger with Chrysler Group. 

    In Cementir Holding he has played a key role in the internationalization process of the Group, closing important M&A cross-border deals, including the acquisition of LWCC in the USA and the sale of Italian operations in 2018 and completing the transfer of the registered office to the Netherlands in 2019.

    Over the years he has received numerous awards, among which repeatedly the one for the best legal directorship. 

    He is recognized by Legal500 among the best in-house counsels at international level. He is Cementir Holding N.V. secretary of the Board of directors.

  • Michele Di Marino | Group Chief Sales, Marketing & Commercial Development Officer

    Michele Di Marino

    Group Chief Sales, Marketing & Commercial Development Officer

    Graduated in Business Administration at Bocconi University, Milan, with a term at McGill University – Montreal, he has 20 years of international experience in strategy, sales, marketing and business development. 

    He started in private equity, then moved to management consulting. He joins the HVAC industry, first in Corporate Strategic Planning in Ariston Thermo Group, staff to the CEO, then in Ferroli Group in Export Sales, with a responsibility over Sales & Marketing covering Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, CIS and the US. 

    In 2010 joins Aalborg Portland in Copenhagen as Commercial and Business Development Director in the Nordic & Baltic Region.

    In 2017 he moves to Cementir Holding in Rome as Group Chief Sales, Marketing & Commercial Development Officer where he is coordinating the Group global commercial strategy with a direct focus on white cement leadership. He is pursuing the Group Innovation agenda and its strategic development.

    Group Chief Internal Audit Officer

    Franco is leading the Group Internal Audit since February 2015. As Chief Internal Audit Officer, he manages and coordinates globally the operational audits, the compliance activities and the special projects requested by the Board and the Audit Committee.
    To the Group Chief Internal Audit report also:

    • the Enterprise Risk assessment (ERM) of the Group
    • the Whistleblowing management
    • the Non-Financial Disclosure (Sustainability annual report).

    Member of Sustainability Committee and Ethics Committee. 

    Before joining Cementir covered the position of Internal Audit Responsible of various Group as Emea FCA, Iveco, Comau, Fiat Financial Services.

  • Paolo Graziani | Group Chief Technical Coordination Officer

    Group Chief Technical Coordination Officer

    Graduated in mechanical engineering from the La Sapienza University of Rome.

    Paolo Graziani is an executive with over twenty years of professional experience acquired in the cement, concrete and aggregates sectors as well as in the construction sector.
    During this period, he took up managerial roles with increasing responsibility in the industrial management of complex organizations, by also covering the role of COO for the Cementir Italia Group and of CEO of Betontir, a company of the Cementir Group.

    In recent years, Paolo has managed several responsibilities both in Italy and abroad always related to the cement sector such as the Italcementi Group (Heidelberg Group).

    Since April 2020 he has been appointed Group Chief Technical Coordination Officer of Cementir Holding Group.

    Group Chief Human Resources Officer

    Graduated in Management Engineering at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, he has over 15 years of experience in the world of HR, change management, management of complex projects and continuous improvement.

    Filippo joined the Cementir Group in 2019 with the role of Group Organization and Change Manager, and then in 2020 became Group Program Manager of the Cementir 4.0 digitalization program and strategic projects of the Industrial Plan. He assumed the role of Group Chief Human Resources Officer in 2021.

    His professional career began in EY with responsibilities related to corporate transformation and digitalization projects for major national and international groups in the logistics, transport, utilities and services sectors.

    Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Federico II University of Naples with Executive MBA from the IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.

    Pasquale Vetrano is an executive with many years of experience in multinational companies having worked in the ABB Group for almost 25 years. During the period, he held different and different managerial positions from Operations to Supply Chain in Italy and then in Switzerland with headquarters in Zurich as Division Supply Chain Manager, Group Vice President. He spent a significant part of his working period abroad in countries such as China, India, the Middle East, North-Central Europe and North Africa.

    In 2011 Pasquale joined Cementir Holding with the role of Group Chief Strategic Sourcing and in 2017 he became Group Chief Global Procurement Officer.

    Since April 2017 he has been Executive Board Member of Spartan Hive, the trading company of the Cementir Group.

    From June 2018 he joined the Board of Çimentaş and Recydia (Turkey) and CCB (Belgium) as Designated Board Member of Cementir Holding.

    Søren Holm Christensen holds a Master of Economics & Business Administration from Aalborg University, Denmark. 
    He joined the Cementir Group, Aalborg Portland in May 2006 as a Trainee with focus on Business Controlling, Planning and Management Support. In 2008 he held the position as Procurement Manager in Aalborg Portland. 

    In 2009 he was appointed Finance Director in the Nordic & Baltic Region with the focus to establish and optimize a new financial shared service center in the region. 

    In 2013 he is appointed responsible for strategic planning and business controlling for the region supporting the CEO. 
    In 2015 Søren Holm Christensen was appointed Managing Director of the Danish RMC business (Unicon Denmark) and held this position until May 2018 where he was appointed Head of the Nordic & Baltic Region. 

  • Eddy Fostier | Belgium Managing Director

    Belgium Managing Director

    Graduated in finance and economics from University Mons in Belgium, Eddy Fostier started his career with Peat Marwick Mitchell & co (KPMG) where he became chartered accountant.

    He was specialized in industry and responsible for the training of the young graduates. In this context, for 5 years, he became also professor of audit at University of Mons.

    After 13 years, and occupying the function of Senior manager, he left KPMG to join CCB as CFO. In 2001, he took over the general management of CCB’s ready mix division (CCB Beton) in order to put in place a new dynamic to better face the local challenges.

    For 6 years, he has been the chairman of the Belgian ready-mix association, Fedbeton.

    In 2016, he has been appointed Managing Director of CCB Belgium and France.

    He is also currently Chairman of the Belgian cement association, Febelcem and board member of the European association, Cembureau.

    North America Head of Region

    Alessandro Civera is a manager with more than 20 years of experience in international groups in different industrial sectors, cement, chemicals and chemical fibers.
    He has a consistent experience abroad and in the management of international teams.

    Graduated in Industrial Chemistry from University of Torino, he received his MBA from Bocconi University in Milano.

    After diversified experiences in chemical and chemical fiber sectors, he joined Italcementi Group in 2005, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in Italy and abroad.

    He joined Cementir Group in 2016 as Managing Director and CEO of the Egyptian subsidiary Sinai White Portland Cement Company, leading a successful turnaround bringing the company to compete on European and international markets. Since 2020 he has been appointed Head of the North American Region.

    Graduated in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from İstanbul Technical University, Cenker Mirzaoğlu has a deep knowledge of Turkish business and economy, with more than 20 years of professional experience, gained in cement, RMC and construction industries, initially with Sabancı Group, Betonsa, Akçansa and Çimsa companies. He joined Çimentaş Group in 2011, taking the lead of Çimbeton in RMC company of Çimentaş Group and then taking whole sales and marketing responsibility in Cimentaş Group.

    In 2015, he became General Manager of Çimko Cement&RMC Company and after 2 years he was appointed as CEO and Board Member. He was responsible for the transformation of the company.

    Currently he is the CEO and Board Member of Cimentas Group in Turkey.

    Alberto graduated in Engineering and Management from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan and holds post graduate studies from Harvard Business School in Boston (Massachusetts, USA).

    Alberto is a manager with extensive international experience in the industrial sector gained in countries such as Angola, Pakistan, India, Iran and Brazil.

    During his career he has held roles of Managing Director and General Manager for companies such as Ferrari spa, Cremonini Group and Boston Consulting Group, mainly dealing with business development and corporate restructuring.

    Alberto joined Cementir in November 2019 and from 1 January 2020 he holds the position of Managing Director of the Egyptian subsidiary Sinai White Cement.

    Asia Pacific Head of Region

    Graduated in Economics at the Genoa University, Fabrizio Carraro has more than 30 years of experience in the industrial sector, covering managerial roles in production companies, but with also some significant experience in consultancy.

    In 1997 he joined Cementir Group contributing to the significant growth of the company and covering several key roles, such as Commercial Director and then Chief Operating Officer in Cementir Italia, and being Chief ComEx Officer and then Chief Sales & Marketing officer in Cementir Holding.

    Prior to Cementir, Fabrizio had held important management positions in several large public and private Italian companies, such as ILVA, TDI, ILP, Bravosolution and IBL.

    In 2017 he was appointed Managing Director of Aalborg Portland Malaysia, and since 2018 he is serving as CEO of Cementir Asia Pacific Region, which includes the Group companies operating in Malaysia, China and Australia.

    Chairman of Compagnie des Ciments Belges SA

    Philippe is the General Administrator of the University of Mons (UMONS). Philippe Mettens obtained the degree of Doctor of Neurosciences (PhD) from the University of Mons Hainaut and McGill University in Montreal in 1993. After having carried out scientific research activities, he served important positions in the Belgian Federal Parliament and has managed several federal ministerial offices, especially in the field of Science Policy and Economy. He also served as Chairman of the Executive Committee (Secretary General) of the Belgian Federal Public Service (BELSPO).

    After this period, Philippe worked in the private sector and, namely, between 2015 and 2018, he was Chairman and CEO of a Luxembourg company (AdwäisEO) active in the space sector (Big data and satellite data processing).

    He is also a member of numerous scientific and literary societies as well as several boards of directors in Belgium and abroad and has published numerous scientific papers and books.

    After graduating with BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering Taha Aksoy started his professional life in 1969 as research and teaching assistant at METU in Ankara and continued his career at three different universities as construction management course instructor. 

    Taha Aksoy has led two major international sport organizations in Turkey, namely UNIVERSIADE 2005 in İzmir and Mediterranean Games 2013 in Mersin. In 2007 he was elected as a member to the Turkish Parliament and served for four years. 

    Taha Aksoy served at top management positions in construction and manufacturing companies for around 25 years. In 2012, he was elected for the Board of Çimentaş as an independent member, since 2018 serves as the Chairman of the Board.
